Swf2Jar 1.0 - Sony Ericsson's Project Capuchin packaging tool has been released and is now available for download.

Project Capuchin allows developers to combine the richness of both Java ME and Flash Lite by encapsulating Flash Lite content in Java ME applications making content created by Adobe Flash technology appear as Java ME applications. The Project Capuchin API and the Swf2Jar 1.0 tool make it possible to use Flash Lite as the presentation layer and Java ME as the application logic, meaning that Flash tools can be used for UI design while still having access to all the phone services available to Java ME.

The Swf2Jar 1.0 tool automatically packages together a jar containing a Java MIDlet class and a Flash file (.swf). The simplest Project Capuchin application is to package existing Flash Lite content in a MIDlet jar file which applies Java security, distribution methods and installation.

The tool can be used for Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-Shot phone, which is the first phone to support Project Capuchin API... So looks like the first step is made into a right direction and now we need more phones with the Project Capuchin API support :D
