The most and maybe the longest awaited application for Symbian UIQ devices, new web browser for smartphones Opera Mobile 9.5 has been released... Well, the version isn't final, it's beta but more important is that it was released and now, final version is just a matter of time.
Besides of the web browser, Opera mobile 9.5 Beta comes with Opera Widgets - handy small programs which you can download free and use on your desktop, mobile phone or TV. The good thing is that, we don't need to wait for Widgets especially for Opera Mobile, it runs already available Widgets for desktop Opera Browser.
As I said, Opera Mobile 9.5b is a Beta version and as everyone knows there is no bug free beta versions and there already are several known issues:
- The browser sets a new system-wide home-page, which cannot be opened by the embedded Internet browser (Opera 8.65).
- Cursor is not shown when HTML edit fields are partially out of screen.
- No support for landscape screen mode due to a number of system issues with the OpenGL graphical engine.
- Browser plug-ins are disabled by default due to non-existent or incomplete system support for Flash content. They can be enabled by the user for experimental purposes only, via More -> Tools -> Change settings -> Advanced -> Allow plug-ins.
- The continuous browser usage experience might be affected by the amount of available phone RAM memory.
